I am having trouble overclocking my AMD Athlon 2 X3 processor on my Gigabyte 970a-ud3p motherboard. Everything seems to never go above the max which is the processor. I have not done overclocking in a while. Values will not go above stock, only lower than stock.

That strange..... did you hold shift and press + sigh while you was trying to make the value go up? even If it not overclock able the value will go up but fail boot will decline it after you exit and save the result
I was able to up the fsb and have got to 3.6ghz not sure how much higher I can go, I haven't messed with any voltages or anything else but hey I set it to 110mhz vs the previous 100mhz. multiplier still is locked though but I figured out that so yeah. Anyways thanks just not sure how far I can overclock this particular chip. I have stock cpu cooler but I also have a lot of other fans and so far the temp seems stable
