Hello Tom's Hardware!

I have been looking into buying the Audio Technica ATH-M20X for quite some time now. However, I have come to a standstill in decision making. The M20X allegedly has great audio quality and lightweight design, while still maintaining good earcups. This sounds like a winner to me.

Recently I wondered if their impedance (47Ohms) is too much for an iPad Air 2 to drive. I have seen videos with people testing them on the iPhone 5s with good volume but I'm still not convinced. Will these headphones sound as good as possible while still maintaining volume on an iPad Air 2?

I have been unable to find any information on the maximum headphones impedance recommended to be used on an iPad.

Sorry for the long thread, but, is there any better options for iPad headphones? With great audio quality, robust design and comfortable fit? I dislike earphones so I'm having a hard time finding my perfect audio match...
