I recently bought a new power supply, its a Silverstone 600W 80plus Essential Series. But the thing is that, after gaming for like, 30 mins or 1 hour, theres that weird slight plastic burning-like smell coming from the Power supply (quite addictive smell but got me worried) And its the 2nd time i'm using it as i just bought it this morning.
Is that because it is still new or it is some sort of damaged?

Greetings!

It very well could be due to it being new...Decent PSUs (like yours) are generally tested before being packaged, but are usually not put under great load for extended periods of time. It could simply be that the components in the PSU are burning off solder flux (a soldering aid that is appropriate to have burn off) as they heat up under load (electrical transference generates heat of course). I would recommend that you keep an eye on your system, but continue to use it and see if the smell goes away after a day or two. If not, or if it gets worse, you may have a defective unit, so keep your nose peeled! :)

Hope this helps!
