MSI Z170A plug and play with Kabylake? (BIOS Update required?)

I hastily bought a Z170A to my new i7 7700K.
I've heard, that the processor might not work without a BIOS update and since I don't really own a testbench or anything I didn't want to tear my packages open and try it out myself. If anybody got reliable information on that it'd be great to share.

I would highly suggest you return the Z170A and get a Z270 board, regardless of compatibility.

Is it so much better? All I found seemed to be pretty minor changes, but I'm probably totally wrong and misinterpreted that. I'm not really a hardware guy myself, that's why I come here.

What are the 4 digits after B in the board's serial number (B1xxx)?
Check on the board's box when package shipped.

Then the board needs a BIOS update, so yes you'd have to return it.
