Can't Overclock Memory

Hello, I have recently got into overclocking and have watched many tutorials on it. Whenever I overclock my CPU, it works fine, but when I overclock my memory to 3000MHz like it is advertised, it just instantly goes down to 1500MHz. Any help is appreciated.

How did you overclock it, just turned up the clock rate? Or did you turn on XMP.

XMP will make all the settings for you.

Ugh, Linus.

I would back off your CPU settings. Turn on XMP. Save/Reboot, and get the memory working correctly first. Then work through your CPU overclock. Whats probably happening is XMP is bumping off a setting that isn't working because of what you did to the CPu already.

Don't waste your time trying to manually overclock the memory, XMP will do it for you.

Yes exactly, and make sure the XMP setting underneath is set to DDR4-3000 (or it may say DDR4-2999, same thing).

Didn't realize you were using CPU-Z.

1500mhz is correct. DDR = Double Data Rate. so 1500mhz = 3000mhz. Your memory is correct.
