I'll try to make this short and sweet. Basically I purchased a pair of Seinnheiser 363d's off Ebay for 100USD (I know, amazing price). They got here 3 weeks earlier than expected, in seemingly perfect condition - so I wake up with a huge smile on my face..

Here's the potential scam:
As I was examining the product I noticed that the screws looked used.. now I'm terrified that I paid for the shell and some knock off internals.. so I plug it in, go to device manager, and the cans are displayed as Seinnheiser 3D G4ME1....... that would make sense why the price was so low, yes? ..

My only question to you smart people of Tom's Hardware is: Are the internals for the G4ME1 the same as the 363d's? .. or did buddy swap them out?

Solution
That seems like a really crappy thing for someone to do. I do recall reading an article a couple months back where some reviewer had done tear downs on all sorts of 'high end' headphones to examine if they were really worth the price paid.. i remember one thing in particular was that the Beats by Dre used like dirt cheap junk for its internals hardly justifying the price people pay for them.

The 363D has a low quality sound card in it for virtual 7.1 surround support. the G4ME does not.
Apart from that i believe they are quite similar. The 3D G4ME1 is the better set anyway, all things considered.

It came with the USB 7.1 surround thing.. there's some crackling in the left can.. could that be because the G4ME1 doesn't support it? kind of upset. don't know how to approach the seller about this.
