I recently built my first PC and was having no problems with it, but I realized that the 3TB Hard Drive I had installed was not being used by the PC. I checked the Device Manager and there was no trace of the Hard Drive at all. The only drive to show up was my M.2 SSD which is working fine. The 3TB Hard Drive doesn't show up in the BIOS or the Device Manager, but the Hard Drive is spinning.

I proceeded to reinstall Windows and tried turning on RAID mode. Neither of these brought me any closer to a solution. The Hard Drive is still hidden for some reason and I have double checked that everything is hooked up right.

I am lost as to what to do next as I am still very new to the PC building process. Any help is Appreciated :)

Since you're able to connect the Toshiba to another PC, do it. If not too much trouble connect it internally in the system. If that's not practicable connect it as a USB external device.

If the system detects the Toshiba, test its health by using one of the many HDD diagnostic tools available on the net. I'm not sure if Toshiba has one available but check their website. The WD Drive Fitness Test should work as well.

If the other system does not detect the Toshiba that's evidence of a defective HDD and you might want to pursue a refund/exchange with the vendor if that's still in effect or a RMA with the manufacturer.

The guide says that only SATA ports 5 and 6 are disabled, and the 3TB Hard Drive is currently connected to the SATA 1 port.

Do you have any capability to connect the Toshiba to your PC as a USB external HDD?
Failing that, can you get your hands on another PC and connect the Toshiba either internally or externally to that machine?
And, of course, you've tried different SATA data ports on the motherboard re connecting the Toshiba, right?

I tried all other availible ports that are not disabled by the m.2 and none of them seem to work. :(

I also just check the "Show hidden devices" under my Device Manager in the Disk Drives Section. I found what i believe to be the hard drive. It is listed as "Unknown Device" and when viewing properties this message is posted in the device status

"Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."
