Did I fry my motherboard or system?

I recently built a new PC and was having issues with "No signal" from my gpu. So I just started to plug in my gpu multiple times into the slot while my computer was on. Nothing seemed to happen except the system would just turn off and say no signal or restart and power up disregarding the gpu was in the slot and giving me integrated graphic performance. After plugging it in multiple times to the running PC my power supply started buzzing. Then it wouldn't turn on so I looked around and realized I had to RMA it. So I did the RMA and now I am just wondering if plugging in the gpu into the running system also made another one of my parts fried like the motherboard, cpu etc. ,other than my power supply because that was already RMA'ed. Any feedback would be nice. Thank you.

Why in the world did you think this was a good idea?

It is possible yes you did damage the board or the GPU. Until you try and boot it again you won't know for sure.

In the future, never do that.
