Just installed a new GTX 1060 and it's not being detected as the display adapter, it shows the default microsoft adapter.

MY PC IS A DELL XPS 8700 All specs are the same besides the new GTX 1060.

I have no clue how to fix this and I'm very discouraged.
I went into my bios to try and change something but I couldn't find hardware to manage my gpu settings.

what model of gtx 1060, did you connected the pci power cable it has? should be a 6 pin or 8 pin power cable

once connected, and properly seated into the slot, please only connect the monitor to the new gpu, the onboard gpu should be disabled automatically if not via uefi bios

I have two monitors set up, and the only thing that did for me was switch the monitors. Now my other monitor isnt working. and my gpu still isnt being detected.

I already did all this. It's just a regular evga 1060. I connected the 6 pin power cable and connected the monitors to the gpu. Obviously the gpu is working because my monitor is working, but its not being detected.

I don't know if the most recent BIOS is installed. I don't know how to update it. I just know how to check what version it is I think.
