Well, kinda, maybe.

It's a EVGA Geforce gtx 1050, and after installing it (removed old drivers, etc) the PC will continually beep once (maybe 30 seconds apart) and hang up on the HP splash screen. Won't go to windows or anything. Inside the case all the fans are running fine and clearly it's getting SOME signal, but from my research the single beep indicates a video card problem. I put the old video card back in and everything works just fine. I can get it to go into BIOS but I can't find any graphics card settings.

So I'm not sure what's going on here! Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I think what you are experiencing is the dreaded issues that arise when switching between AMD and Nvidia based GPU's... you're going to need to completely uninstall everything related to the AMD card and then install and get drivers for the Nvidia card..

Ok, no idea what happened. I didn't do anything differently, but it finally made it to Windows, but the resolution was bizarre, everything blown up and I could only see a small corner of the screen. I somehow made it to the device manager and it said my graphics device was "Windows Basic Video" or something similar. I had it detect for new hardware, and it found it, so I updated the driver. I did another restart, and it went to windows, but the resolution was fine. Everything seemed to work perfectly, so I did another reboot and still does the beep at the beginning, a LONG startup, then everything's fine.

I think you're right, I found I still the AMD Control Center or whatever, so I uninstalled that. How can I find what other old AMD stuff is on there?

you can sift and search through the various programs/apps installed on your PC, some people use some auto remover, not sure what its called.. at the same time you can look at what programs/services are running when you startup to see if you notice anything from AMD
