Hello,

I had some issue with BF1 and I ask the quetion will my system run the game smoother in general if I add an other 8GB of RAM.

CPU: Intel Core - i5 4590
GPU: Sapphire - R9 380 4GB [OC]
RAM: Crucial - 2x4GB 1600MHz CL8
M/B: Gigabyte - H97M D3H
PSU: XFX XTR 650
MONITOR: EIZO FLEXSCAN S1911 [2ms]

Note: I run the game on 1280x1024.

I went to a friend with an FX 8350 [OC], 16GB, GTX 1070. We ran the game on 4k with everything on MAX. But EVERYTHING. (RES SCALE -> 200% etc.). The hole system did not used more the 8GB of RAM. -_-

The cost of buying exactly the same sticks of RAM is 75EYR. So will my problem will be solved or I should get a better CPU instead.

Cost of:

i7 4790k -> 370EYR
i7 4790 -> 330EYR
Crucial - 2x4GB 1600MHz CL8 -> 75EYR
i7 6700k -> 400EYR
DDR4 RAM 2x8GB 2666Mhz -> 175EYR
MOBO Gigabyte z170 d3h -> 150EYR

Thanks for your time,

I tested it yesterday. BF1 on a 64 players server adds ~6GB RAM usage.
with the toll windows uses that's sorta alright but sometimes you'll get above 8.
but when you get 8GB for 75€ then 16GB for 175 is a rip-off.

while an i7 will improve performance in BF1 it's just not worth it from your system to spend 350€

you might wanna consider buying a used 16GB RAM kit
they're available pretty cheap and you don't need to invest much money into a system that you might upgrade next year anyway.

You can go with 16GB for so called 'Future proofing' (Although I hate that word). 16GB RAM is the max I'd recommend for a gaming build (even high-end). Anything more that that is probably a waste of money (if you're only gaming and light editing stuff) and you're better off focusing your resource somewhere else.

For the CPU part its a powerful quad-core. You don't need to replace it now.
