I wanted to make an upgrade tothe following system for my kid (I didn't want to spend too much money on a new system due to this one good performance for his applications), so the system is:
MOBO: Gigabyte EP45C-DS3R rev 1.0
uP: Intel core 2 duo 8500 3Ghz
Video card: MSI 9600GT 1GB PCI express 2
HDD: samsung 1TB
Power supply: coolermaster silent pro 600W
current mem: DDR2 4GB Kingston KHX8500D2K2.- with this mem is working very well.
To this system I added 256 GB SSD and wanted to replace the 4GB memory with 16GB DDR2 kingston KVR800D2N6/4G (4 modules of 4GB).
The problem:
When I insert even a single new memory stick alone the computer performs part of the POST till mem test, it counts the memory and see it correct as amount and it shows mem test OK and it shows the menu with the options to enter BIOS but it won't enter BIOS if I press DEL and won't enter in any further program no matter what menu I choose, and after around 10 seconds it restarts and is doing this again and again.
The system has installed Win 10 64b but I tried to boot on a DOS USB stick and the behaviour is the same.
I used the BIOS settings with CL6 but I tried it with LOAD Optimised defaults and LOAD FAIL SAFE settings and it does the same.
IS ANYBODY HAVING ANY IDEEA HOW TO MAKE IT WORK?
THE last GIGABYTE published compatible memory list for this MOBO shows that this memory is compatible with my MOBO.
Thank you very much for any help.
