gtx 1060 & GA-990FXA-UD3 compatible?

I am thinking about buying a 1060 and I don't have deep understanding of motherboards like what PCI speed is so I figured I could get some help here.
Edit: As a little side question, is the performance in difference between the 3gb and 6gb that big for just playing with 1080p on a single monitor?

There shouldn't be much performance difference between pcie 2.0 and 3.0. Gpu's are backward compatible meaning it will work fine on that motherboard. The vram quantity and speed of the gpu between the 3gb and 6gb version will depend more on the game than just the screen size or how many screens. Csgo isn't very demanding on the graphics card, witcher 3 with hairworks turned on is another story. That's on a single screen at 1080p.

Have a look not just at average fps but min fps as well, those will indicate frame drops. In some games there's little difference, in others there can be a 7-10fps min fps difference and means the difference between...
