I spent 6 hours building my first computer. Here are the specs:

(But my mobo is actually the Z270-AR). When I turned on the light, my GPU and mobo both lit up, but when I pressed the power button, nothing happened. The instructions for how to install the pins for the power button were extremely confusing. If anyone has a Z270-AR and has had success in turning it on, please show me a pic of the bottom right of your mobo.

Solution
It appears that pins 3 and 13 are your front panel power button connection. This is on the system panel connector located at the corner of the motherboard, and pin 1 should be labeled.

Your motherboard also has a power button on it (labled "PWR_SW", next to the com port connector), so you can press to power on directly that way.

All of this can be found in your manual...look at page I-30 here:

I powered up the computer from the button on the motherboard, but it does not boot up and there is no display.

EDIT: i managed to boot it up, but the SSD is not found in the bios, only the USB.

EDIT: now none of the motherboard exterior connections are working, doesnt recognise my HDMI, or mouse and keyboard connected by USBs.
