Recently the line in my home has gone faulty and needs replacing due to being old. The only place I can move the modem is down the other end of the house which is about 25m away. So I am wondering what is the best way to go about extending the wireless signal. It has to travel 20-25m away from the modem and pass through 4 brick walls.

Currently the internet can't reach iPhones/iPods etc. but can reach my Desktop PC with a USB wireless adapter, though it is a very poor signal.

The page describes it working as a bridge (calling it a "wireless adapter") but doesn't mention operation as an access point.

Netgear and TP-Link both make unified powerline adapters/wifi access points. You might look at one of those types of adapters if you only need to provide wifi to a single room.

Is it possible to use wifi extenders as a wifi access port, if i connected an extender to a powerline adpater which then also connected to the router?
