So yesterday I transferred my PC to a new case. The only change in any of the hardware was I put 2 Be Quiet Silent Wings 3 onto my Corsair H100i V2 instead of the stock ones. Since then I've been getting a CPU fan error when I boot up. I removed the cooler today and put the fans on the outside of the case and re-applied the thermal paste (Arctic Silver 5) about a pea size drop and was still getting the error. I tried going into the bios and changing the CPU fan controller 1st to advanced mode which is supposed to be for 3 pin fans, and then disabling the Q-fan function all together and still getting the same. What am I doing wrong?

The fans are connected to a cord coming off the pump that takes them down to a single 3 pin connector and the pump is connected to a USB connector at the bottom of the mobo.

I connected the radiator fans to the mobo and the system booted, however the CPU was really hot so I'm assuming it's an issue with the pump. What do you mean sys fan header? I only see case fan headers.

I'll give that a shot, but the manual says connect it to a USB header (file:///C:/Users/Mike/Dropbox/Downloads/H100iv2_QSG.pdf)

Update: actually the pump connector is a 10-1 connector so I wont fit on the fan header.

Well the system boots when the radiator fans are connected to the CPU fan headers so I don't think that's the issue.

I understand that. It's connected to to power as indicated in the manual so I'm thinking it's either the pump or the USB header that's the issue. The plug that goes into the pump is a micro USB port so I could try using a different cable and connect it to a USB port outside the case if that wouldn't damage it.

The CPU temp is 98c on boot so something is amiss. I submitted and RMA to Corsair because I have no idea what it could be other than a bad pump.
