So yesterday I decided to reset my laptop to factory settings and delete everything off of it for a fresh start. Durring this I got a warning saying the reset failed. My computer would not turn on right after that. It gets to the gates screen and says f2 but then the screen turns black! I really don't want to send it to someone to fix it if I can. Do it by myself! Please help I have no clue what to do!

Solution
Start Gateway laptop, and when you see “Gateway” logo, keep on pressing F8. And choose “Restore Computer” in pop-up menu. System restore window appears. Click Next and follow wizard to restore laptop to default settings.

The way to restore Gateways is to hold down the ALT Key and repeatedly hitting f10 then it should bring you to a boot sequence screen then choose the HDD and then hold down ALT and repeatedly hit f10 again that should promt the restore feature for gateway. If that doesnt work the only way to do it is to boot into windows and run the eRecovery program.

I have tried the f8 button but all it does is beep. Is there anything else I can do?
