Format seagate hdd

when I connect my Seagate 1 TB external hard drive .it shows external hdd as Local disk D. but i can't open.it is still loading.. when i try to format using diskpart command,the command was not executing..i also checked disk management but it didnt load .....if i use any hard drive relating tool,it doesn't start..if i remove that drive ,all the process said above are running properly.pls help me to format or recover my Seagate external hdd

Hey there.

This is definitely a behaviour typical for a failing drive. However, in order to confirm that, you'll need to try the drive with a different USB cable and a different computer, to see if the same thing happens. You could also try using the manufacturer's diagnostic tool to test the drive while connected to a different system, if it doesn't freeze up again.
