So quick and simple: has anyone tested to see if the system at least posts with a Kaby Lake CPU on a non-updated BIOS H110 chipset mobo?
I only ask because I already have a Gigabyte H110 and with the introduction of Kaby Lake I've been asking myself for the last couple of days if the system will at least get into BIOS to allow me to update it without the need of a Skylake processor, which could be a challenge for me to get my hands into (in the case I buy a Kaby instead of a Sky).
Anyone has actual first hand experience with this?
Thank you very much.

Sorry to bump this but I was wondering the same, the gigabyte board I have has q-flash so you can update the bios from inside the bios itself.

I assumed I could get the new Kabylake G4560, update the bios using q-flash and that would add the support the the kabylake. Is that not a possibility?

It seems a shame to buy the G4400 for a new build when the G4560 is only £15 more.

That is just sad to hear. I thought it had a chance of at least getting into some "safe mode" and get me into the BIOS to update it.
Oh, well... a Skylake will have to do, then. I don't know anyone with a Skylake and shops would probably charge me more than it's worth for the hassle.

A motherboard that supports QFLASH does not support booting into the BIOS without a CPU. For that you need the motherboard to support QFLASH PLUS. This is supported only by high end motherboard. For non high end boards you have to have a compatible CPU for the BIOS screen and then use QFLASH. I found this the hard way after the purchase and am taking the board back to the dealer tomorrow in the hope that he will have a spare 6 series chip lying around for me to upgrade the BIOS else i will have to visit the nearest service centre.
