Hi, as you can see above i wish to upgrade from my gtx 560 ti as its getting a little old for newer games. I have an Asus A88x-Plus Motherboard, 8GB Corsair Ram, A10 6700 apu and 750w power supply. I know a little about computer setups but im clearly a budget gamer. I placed an order for the sapphire rx 480 8gb and remembered that i may be wasting money because of a bottleneck. So i cancelled it for now.

Is there anything i can do? maybe a cheaper gfx card or better cpu without a new mobo? If i have to change motherboard and cpu which do you recommend?

Hope you can help :) - Jake

If your sure the games are all and will be all GPU intensive, them your APU might be able to keep up. Online gaming on a busy server is still going to take its toll on it tho. I'm never one to under-buy, so if you...

Yeah, the RX 480 will be held back at times with the APU. Drop back to the RX 470. It is basically a slightly lower performance RX 480 that is $200 or less now. I have one and it is pretty amazing for its price.
Running under DX12 and/or Vulcan, it is faster than my GTX 970 and my GTX 1060 3GB in those games.

is it not more worth it to add on that extra £40 and get the rx480 and have newer card? also will my apu hold it back by much? since most games i play are gpu intensive anyway. Thanks for the help :)

I'm never one to under-buy, so if you can afford the RX 480, go for it. I was just trying to go for a better balanced combo.
