Power Supply and Motherboard Compatibility Issue

I have a question about motherboard and power supply compatibility. I have an OCZ Silencer MKIII 850 watt psu and an ASUS Z170-WS and the motherboard will not post (turns on) and gives the boot code 00 (means nothing).

I purchased 2 more power supplies (OCZ MKIII 850 watts) to test the issue and all of them give me the same issue. I isolated the issue to the 24 pin connector on the power supply because if I have a separate power supply connected to the 24 pin with the OCZ powering everything else it posts fine. When the OCZ power supply has the 24 pin connected the motherboard hangs up on the 00 boot code. I also measured the voltages on all the power supplies with a multi-meter and they all had the same voltages. The two power supplies work with my current system so I know the power supplies are not dead and I even have one in my own system.

I tested a corsair power supply and it works fine and posts along with other power supplies I have. What I realized was that the first code with every power supply that posts is 00 and the OCZ power supply is hanging up on the 00 boot code.

I called ASUS and they said the technical department will also see if they know what the issue is. Has anyone had this issue before?
