I am in the process of designing a DIY case for a portable Workstation/Server that will fit in a briefcase. So far I've got it down to 9.4 litres and have identified the limiting factor is the size of the PSU required.
The best solution so far is a Corsair SFX 450. But it is 63.5mm thick. The other dimensions 120 x 100 are fine, but I'd like to make the case thinner. I've looked at 1U PSUs but the smallest I've found is 180 x 81.5 x 40.5. Unfortunately the 180 makes the case too large to fit. I'm also concerned that the 40mm fans in a 1U PSU will be too noisy. Hence the preference for a Corsair SFX as it has a 90mm fan.
Does anyone have any suggestions to make?
The spec I have in mind is pretty high-end:
