If a board is crossfire ready does that mean it is sli ready

I have the gigabyte ga-z97-hd3 and want to sli my 1070 but it says crossfire ready not sli will sli work on it? Or only crossfire

No, NVIDIA and AMD Architecutes are different. SLI requires SLI Bridges found at http://www.geforce.com/nvidia-slibridges

No, Xfire is capable on an x4 PCIe lane, whereas SLI is only capable on x8 PCIe and above. If a board supports SLI it supports both, if it only support Xfire, it only supports Xfire.

Your board will not support SLI.
