Hello,
the title explains the main part.
I study Computer Engineering so i think i can communicate.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H
PSU: Corsair CX600

So, i have this machine for a few years now. 1.5 years back my AMD Sapphire Radeon Hd 7800 died on me. Screen turned on but no image (just black). I made sure windows were not actually running in the background. The PC couldnt boot correctly with the gpu on.
So i did the trick as a last resort to heat it in the oven and got one more year of smooth play out of it knowing that eventually i'd have to buy a new card.
Now it's beyond fixing so i got the gtx.

I uninstalled all AMD software from my PC. Shut it down. Switched cards but now i get 1long2short beeps (failed POST?) and the PC gets stuck in bootmenu giving me a short beep once every few seconds. I get the image through the GPU. Then after a minute the screen goes black.

At this point i dont know what part to blame. Any Ideas?

Update 1: I tried again to check if i explained it correctly and it seems to me that the gpu is actually
struggling with the power. The fan is working but i can hear it accelerating for a moment, dropping and trying to accelerate again.

p.s. this gpu drains power directly from the motherboard, dont know if it's relevant.

Solution
Best thing to try first is to update the bios to the newest one available from Gigabyte. If you install their @BIOS application, it can download and install the newest version for you.
