to change the cpu you need to replace the motherboard, so the answer is yes it can be changed, the educated man would tell you for the price of changing that motherboard to end up with a duo2core 1.6gghz CPU, you best gets a brand spanken new gaming asus laptop

No. You will not be able to change much on any laptop. Most laptop will only let you change hdd and if you are lucky ram. Sorry to break it to you. But if you are looking for any new upgrade on computer. I would wait a bit if I were you. Amd is coming out with the new cpu which take much less power than before and much faster also "Q1 this year". You can Google it your self. If you want to go for Intel their price will be going down Caz they finally have some competitor on the market. If you are not in a hurry wait a bit longer.

You can't use Intel processor on AMD platform, vice versa. This applies to desktop as well.
