I'm not sure if anyone else is seeing this with their new Nvidia cards, but occasionally I'll get a persistent vertical screen tear (probably the wrong terminology for this situation?) down the middle of my screen by which the center 3-5 pixels are offset entirely to the right edge of the screen from top to bottom. To illustrate imagine if you could pinch the middle 3-5 pixels from the top of the screen to the bottom and move them to the right edge of your screen. Then the portion of the screen originally to the right of those center pixels move to the left by the same offset (and by doing this your entire screen resolution is utilized).
There are two ways I can remedy the situation:
1) Change the resolution to something lower and then change it back to the native resolution. I sometimes have to do this 2 or 3 times for it to take.
2) Restart.
Once the issue is resolved using one of the techniques above, I don't see the issue every time a mode change happens. I think it's driver related because it usually takes place going from sleep to wake or game mode to desktop or desktop to game mode. I've seen the issue at the Windows desktop and in 3D gaming programs. Also, I never see it at the BIOS screen otherwise I might think it were a hardware issue. I'm just not used to Nvidia drivers giving me any problems.
I've seen this issue happening since I got my 1080.
I noticed it happens primarily when coming out of sleep mode, though I've seen it on the desktop a few times just after Windows startup. It's crazy moving windows around on the screen and when they cross the middle you see 3-5 pixels all the way to the right.
I'm just trying to get some consensus on this issue as I've reported it to Nvidia a few weeks ago (have not received a response).
Anyone else seeing this? Does anyone know of a more permanent fix?
