So recently my PC died, and my Western Digital Black 4TB 128mb Cache came in the delivery on the day my PC died.

I'm currently using a laptop and since it's a 3.5" I was unable to use it at all.

I purchased an external dual disk dock/bay to put in my HDD & WD Black.

This is my first time using the drive.

When I'm downloading games on steam or transferring files, there is a weird hard clicking sound the drive makes. I've done some research and others say it's normal, but i'm not sure.

I ran tests and it passed them all.

Edit: Here's the sound https://youtu.be/4VymHwSis9U

It is HDD, it has moving parts. It may be more audible since it is outside of the computer case. Also it may create sound from vibration if it does not sit tight in the enclosure. I have 4TB WD Black inside the case. It has its sounds, different from Seagate, but it is not loud to hear across the room. I can hear it if I am directly next to it. I would test it inside some desktop, properly positioned.

Yeah unfortunately my PC is dead, so I can't really test it inside of a case. Unless I purchase Sata Power Extenders.

If I could I would believe me, but that's a hole other issue. The motherboard is dead, i'm buying a new motherboard on a new platform soon which requires me buying new ram & cpu, so that's a little down the line.

It died due to Water Damage from Leaking Ceiling in Heavy Rainstorm. (It was running whilst having water inside of it)
