4690k intergrated GPU playing 4k video

hi community !
is 4690k intergrated gpu able to play movies on a 4k display without problem?
i have a lot of leftover parts from other builds , but one part i do lack is a PSU, so thats why i cannot test the 4690k setup on 4k display .

so was wondering anybody here could test with HDR set to 4k and run a movie on their intergrated 4690k gpu? or somebody that knows it would run? im planning on getting the psu and setting up a media rig then with a new 4k 40" monitor just for movies and music... youtube and so on . no gaming . :)

Yeah I didn't see what I wanted on MSI either, so Newegg to the rescue. It did say 3840X2160@60Hz so you are good to go, I wouldn't try to game over the onboard in 4k though.

I'm pretty sure that it would depend on the motherboard that you are using. What mobo do you have that you'll be pairing with the 4690k? I'm not certain that many, if any of the Z87/97 mobos can do 4k, but won't know until you supply the motherboard.

its an msi z97 gaming 5 . it should play it then ? i can OC that 4690k to 4.7ghz no issues and it doesnt go above 75c under gtx h100i cooling :)

thanks for that ! :) i looked on msi website didnt say shit about that.

so yeah for movies 24 fps is fine... :) good thing pfew :) because 40" 4k monitor is cheaper than 1080p 40" ahahaha

oh yeah i looked at 4096X2304@24Hz for some reason... silly me !

well great stuff :) media center here we go .

yeah , nah, i wont game on that rig, its exclusively media center.... for partying :D

i have gaming rig , 980ti + 6700k 16gb ddr4 ram, 1tb ssd, ekwb blocks +rads... whole rig watered up. so im good there :D THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN for all the help !!! saved my life alot :)
