Hello
I wanted to upgrade my old slow computer with 2x 2GB DDR3 to 2x 4 GB DDR3 RAM on my ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO.
(I'd actually prefer 2x8GB but it doesn't seem too support it and 4x4GB also seems to lead to problems)
So i exchanged my 2 sticks and rebooted and just got a black screen.also no video at all since the monitor won't start. I made sure the monitor connenction was good and tried again but nothing. Putting my old sticks back in, and works.

What did I do or buy wrong?
I got 2x 4GB DDR3 by Kingston type KVR16N11S8/4

Thanks a lot!
Mira

So it looks like your motherboard with the CPU you have cannot handle 8gb of RAM with more than 1060 Mhz, which is why the old ram cards work. I would suggest getting another set of the A-DATA 2gb ram cards to make up a full 8gb.

So i may have isolated the issue, i just need a bit more information.
-32 or 64-bit windows 7
-Also what type of connection are you using to connect the computer to the monitor/ what outputs does your graphics card have?
-Lasty what CPU do you have?
