So I have a custom built PC and I'm thinking of selling it. I was wondering if i could get any input on what a fair second hand price would be. Also I don't know if shipping the whole thing would be easier or just using the separate boxes for the parts. (I do not have all of the part boxes)

CPU: Intel i5 6500
Cooler: CM Hyper 212 EVO
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170 Gaming 7
Ram: 2x8Gb 2133Hz Corsair
Storage: 1Tb hardrive
GPU: MSI GTX 1070 Gaming Z
PSU: Seasonic M12ii 620 Bronze
Case: Enermax Ostrog GT Black + Red

Total I paid for is about 1200 If that matters. Thanks Guys

I would say you can get 1/2 that might get 2/3.
You bought a rather high end board for a i5 6500 when you sell it their not really going to be looking at anything but the performance of the processor and video card. The PC would really be worth the same if it had a budget H170 board.

i look at paying around 60%--65% of original cost if i buy a pc off ebay--one with pretty recent components that is

older stuff would be less

not sure you wouldnt get more splitting that up to be honest as the gtx1070 should get a good price on its own

as said some nice stuff there like gtx1070 and decent motherboard

along with other parts that just dont stand out the same

Unfortunately the resale market is not kind to electronics / computer equipment, as they have arguably one of the fastest depreciations in value. To maximize your return, I would try selling the system and graphics card separately. In a best case scenario, you can expect 2/3 of what you paid tops.

Yeah computers depreciate about as fast as cars do. You lose about half the value already within the first couple of months of use. Because of depreciation nobody will ever get back the full value of their system. You can try to salvage the parts themselves and sell those themselves because some parts might be worth more than others depending on the market but then that's always a crapshoot.
