What is the exact model of GPU? Gigabyte offers many models of GTX 1060.

DVI-I is digital and analog - a simple DVI to VGA converter is usually included if the card supports this.
DVI-D is digital only
HDMI is digital only
DP is digital only

Typically GPUs that have more than one DVI port offer both options. These days they typically don't.

HDMI to VGA adapters are relatively inexpensive, but vary in quality:

Not really specific enough on the GPU, but likely not directly with an off the shelf adapter. Unless the GPU came with a DVI-VGA adapter it isn't likely to support the straight through adapters that are inexpensive.

DP to VGA would require an active adapter, which is kind of expensive.

Not too much call for VGA these days. HDMI has been the consumer standard for quite a number of years. DVI itself is pretty legacy and Display Port is the cutting edge for professional graphics (Thunderbolt and USB 3.1 aside)

I typically trust Startech, for cheap and okayish products, but their asking price is a little higher.

Some of the generic ones work for a while, but tend to fail unexpectedly. No signs of damage.

Looks like you'll need an active adapter of some sort. I'm fairly certain the HDMI to VGA adapters are the cheapest (because they are the most common)
