I have a Samsung Galaxy s7 edge. I've taken it to a Samsung store and they've told me it has bad hardware. It is covered under warranty, although they want to charge me 90 pounds as the back glass is cracked and they will have to replace it. If i change the back glass myself, will the warranty be void?

Thanks in advance.

Solution
Most often yes.

Companies have a hard time telling if damage to a device was done by a user tampering, or if it was due to a malfunction covered by warranty.

It is best to ask Samsung directly.
