GPU setup question.

If it's up to performance and at a good price I'm thinking about buying a vega GPU as I'm planning on getting a 144Hz Monitor in September. was wondering if I could use my 1060 as a PhysX card alongside the Vega as the Vega will be awful at it. Is this viable? Cheers. ALso would it work with a 1070? Just to make Gameworks perform a little better.

Solution
AFAIK Hybrid Physx has been disabled for some time, especially on newer gen cards like the 1060.
I believe the last working cards were the 6xx series, the drivers have locked it out for some time now.
You can run the 1060 as a physx card alongside an AMD GPU, but that sounds like a massive waste of money and power. It doesn't look like Vega will even be out until Q2 2017 or later at this point, so I feel like any plans you have are a little premature. If I were you, I'd accelerate the purchase of your 144hz monitor before thinking about getting a new GPU and sell the 1060 while it's still worth something to upgrade if you're not happy with the FPS you're getting. Once the newer Nvidia cards come out, your 1060 will lose a lot if its value and you'll be stuck trying to sell it for breadcrumbs if you're not content with it.

I'm keeping the 1060 anyway if I had no use for it I'll put it in a smaller case I can carry around easily.
