Just bought i5 6500 from amd 9370. Should I invest the money for an asus rog strix 1070 8gb from 970? I am also running 16gb LPX C13-2133hz ddr4. I am new to this, I am running 1080p 144hz monitor. I do not care to run ultra but get decent quality without sacrificing frames.

1070: A GTX 1070 for 1080 @ 144 FPS sound great. i5-6500 is one of my favorite skylake CPUs and also meshes well with that GPU.
970: Did you submit your claim for the $30 GTX 970 settlement? If not you should. Then sell the 970 on Ebay to recoup some money.
AMD FX-9370: You should sell your CPU and AM3+ motherboard on Ebay to recoup some additional money.
