Hello, I overclocked my CPU for the first time, i used the msi game boost which is automatic overclock from 3.4 to 3.7 on 6800k, temperatures stay low around 30C and with 100% load for about 5 minutes around 40C.
I just wanna ask what do you guys think, should i keep it?
Return it to stock?
Will it shorten the life of my pc?
And how big of a improvement will this be?
Feel free to share your thoughts i know there are many posts on oc but i could not find clear answers

Msi x99a gaming 7
I7 6800k
Corsair h100 v2
Corsair ddr4 16gb 3200mhz
Gigabyte 1060 6gb oc
Evga g2 supernova 850watt.

Solution
The game boost works perfectly fine, it won't really shorten the CPU life span by a noticeable amount. However, you really won't see much of an improvement with that overclock. Game boost gets it to 3.7GHz, but it's designed to go much higher.

I recommend on reading some overclocking guides, and start overclocking from the BIOS, not game boost. With that great water cooler you can reach amazing speeds.

Thanks a lot, The only thing that annoys me it that when i turn on the game boost i cannot turn on XMP, i know i can overclock cpu manually and then use XMP but just dont need it, so what would you recommend using the game boost or XMP?

You could just put your multiplier on as 37 in BIOS. Chances are it will be stable with no voltage change necessary.
