My Budget for the build is £13000 I am not getting sli gtx 1080 yet because I dont think ill need it for the games ill be playing. Any tips or advice you can give are much appreciated this is a well thought out list but I may have missed somthing like I did on my previous draft list. Thanks

If you plan on sli, I'd go with an 850 over the 760w psu. To get the range of speed from that ram, with that cooler, you sound most definitely like you'll OC to some large degree, which is what you'll need most likely. Otherwise you'll probably end up running @2800 or so. This is going to jack up power requirements and even as low powered that gpu is comparatively, you'd be better off not pushing loads on the psu where not needed.

Get a 2nd monitor. Doesn't have to be anything special, a plain 24" 1080p 60hz will do fine. I've been running dual monitors now for 4 years and I'll never go single again. It's way easy in games to have the map handy, stats, directions etc without having to flip-flop screens. Helps a lot in production apps as well since it affectively doubles real estate

I changed the 760 W PSU to a 860 W PSU would that be good or is that just hitting the mark there is a 1050 W PSU would it make any sense to get that instead or is that leaving more headroom than necessary. Ive actually got a few monitors already never considered dual monitors but ill give it a try when I set the build up I dont think ill like dual monitors though because of how I set my desk up. Thanks for the suggestions and information.

Recommended minimum wattage for sli 1080 is 750w. Recommended additional wattage for high OC is 100w. An 860w psu is perfect. The only ppl running sli 1080 who need a 1050 or better are those who are using the psu to also power a custom cooling loop. Your power draw at best will be somewhere around 650w-700w,and thats flat out, so you'll have plenty of headroom with the 860w psu and not be pushing the limits of the 760w.

I wasn't happy either with the idea of dual monitors on my desktop, but my wife really needs 2 for the work she does, she's constantly cross-referencing sheets and websites and having all that open on a single screen is painfully slow at flipping back and forth. So we got 2 monitors. Then I had Googled map directions for a particular dungeon, had that open on 1 screen, and had the game running on the primary screen, and bam! I was hooked. So much easier to read-play than just constantly alt-tab just to do the complicated maps. I'll never run single monitors again. It takes next to no power on my gtx660ti, and won't even be a consideration on a card like a 1080.

I guess ill stick with the 860 W PSU then. I might get a second gtx 1080 if it is needed in the future and at least that way the psu is high enough for sli. Ill put a second monitor on the desk to try it.
