I want a more compact gaming pc and I need some advice from the pro's.

I currently have a mid-tower case and an atx motherboard. I'm thinking about downsizing my case and motherboard.

Specs:
EVGA Geforce GTX 970 FTW (must fit in the newer motherboard and smaller case)
Intel Core I5-6600K 3.50 GHz (must fit in the newer motherboard and smaller case)
MSI Z170A Gaming Pro Motherboard (what smaller motherboard do you recommend?)
WD Blue 1TB Desktop Hard Disk Drive (I can upgrade to an SSD if my HDD will not fit on the smaller case)
ADATA XPG Z1 DDR4 RAM (must fit in the newer motherboard and smaller case)
Asetek 550LC 120mm Liquid CPU Cooler (must fit in the newer motherboard and smaller case)
Corsair Carbide Series Black 300R Mid-Tower Case (what smaller case do you recommend?)
LG 14x Blu-Ray (I can remove this if a smaller case would not accommodate this)
12-in-1 Internal Card Reader (I can remove this if a smaller case would not accommodate this)
EVGA 600W 80 Plus Power Supply (must fit in the newer motherboard and smaller case)
Wireless Internal Wi-Fi (must fit in the newer motherboard and smaller case)
Windows 10
8GB DDR4 Ram

Thank you!

Solution
I did the switch to mini ITX from ATX mid tower.
Here is what I'd suggest:
Case - one of the following:
Fractal Design Define Nano S - my choice
Phanteks Evov ITX
NZXT Manta
MB:
Asus Z170I Pro Gaming
ROG Strix Z270I Gaming

You current HW (except optical drive) will fit the new case and you will preserve the current level of performance. Those cases will allow to use any dual slot high end GPU (if and when you decide to upgrade). The MB will allow to do the overclocking.
And of course there is a built in (and decent) WiFi on the mother board.
