right now im using an a6-6400k amd im look to upgrade to an a10-6800k its not a good upgrade but its what i can afford. All the benchmarks and such have been made without a graphics card and just the chipset graphics, so i was wondering if i used an extra graphics card (i have a gtx 470 1gb card) would it boost the performance of the apu?

For the most part yes but these prices are fairly normal so you don't have to go with those if you don't want to you can go anywhere you trust.

That's the wrong way of looking at it.

No add-on GPU will boost the performance of the APU's graphics chip. They work totally separately & independently, one or the other.

Not meaning boosting the graphics of the chip i mean if i use a separate graphics card will the cpu perform better.

No, your CPU is already quite a heavy bottleneck as it is really, APUs are not designed to be used with discrete graphics, rather single device solutions for budget workstations.

Not my current apu i mean if i got like an a10 7700k or an a10 6800k

Not sure what you're talking about, you gave me a budget and I'm within it.
If you're willing to spend money on an A10 which will give you very little performance improvement you're surely willing to spend money on something that will give you MUCH better performance for the $200 budget you assigned.

with shipping and taxes to canada where i live in a 180-200$ range max. Its hard lol I also want to be able to record and stream on the same pc :O

All those prices are inclusive of tax, if you want to be able to record and stream an A10 is DEFINITELY not going to get anywhere near that, optimally you'll want an i5, but an i3 works too.
With an APU you can kiss that goodbye.
Trust me here, get the i3 if you want to get the most out of your graphics card, APUs are very weak in terms of CPU strength, not to mention 6 years old +.

i have been looking at saving a bit more for an 13-6100 or an i5-6400 and even maybe an i5 6600.

I can tell you now it is MOST DEFINITELY worth it to save up.
The performance gain you get for saving a bit more is extremely dramatic.
Save up and get either one of these, although I strongly recommend the first due the fact you can carry over RAM, a good choice if you already have 8GB.
