Whats the best AM3 non+ cpu?

hi guys im new to pc gaming, so last year ive build my first pc. then i will start thinking
what can i upgrade next.. ,so ive upgraded my HDD to SSD and upgraded my ram 4gb to 8gb
and geforce 210 to RX 460, ive been researching in internet and i still dont know the best am3
cpu (non +) ,and im looking for $100 max budget (for cpu),my specs

AMD Athlon X4 640 3.0 Ghz
8gb 1600Mhz dual channel memory
ECS AM3 motherboard
RX 460
256gb PNY SSD
PowerUP 500w 80+ PSU

but i think you dont need to know whats my specs, since its not a problem and im just asking about cpu, and should i keep my Athlon or buy new one? because i dont want to change my motherboard (yet).

you could get a AMD Phenom II X4 955 or 965, but the upgrade of about 150$ versus the improvement over your current CPU is only marginal. I would save the 150$ upgrade cost and save a little more and do a proper upgrade to an Intel board/CPU and Ram

yup thats my board, so what cpu can i get from that? or i should upgrade my board?

thank you so much :) ive found AMD Phenom II X4 955 for only $60 in my country is it worth it to upgrade? (sorry for asking again)

after few minutes i think i wont buy it because its just slightly better than my current cpu, thanks for replying to me
