Right after I put my password in, it takes a few minutes for the internet to connect. It shows the the loading symbol on top off the internet icon in the bottom right of my desktop. After it finally connects, my desktop icons turn to the blank icons and then slowly starts to load them up. Sometimes they don't all load. Occasionally, when I open a program after this my desktop becomes unresponsive. Is my SSD crashing? I'm just really confused to what is happening. Any help appreciated.

Solution
You can test your SSD by Windows 7 performance rating tool.

Go to here Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Performance Information and Tools and run the assesment and see if there is anything wrong with your SSD or RAM

Network speed not down to the SSD
Network negotiation time is independent of hard drive loading speed.

What CPU do you have? If it's on the slow side, it could be loading faster than it can deal with. Check CPU load in task manager.

Is the SSD over 80% full?
Do you have Enough RAM? Too little and you will have a large page file writing while you are trying to load stuff.

Are you cold booting or resuming from hibernate?
