this is not what nvincent sayd, and it's a NEW laptop... it shouldn't be as slow as he describes.
Mostly viruses do this...

I would consider swapping out the hard drive for an SSD. The hard drive that you have is a SLOW 5400RPM model and if you install a SSD, then your laptop will be responsive and will feel so much faster at all things that you are doing. Granted a 1TB SSD is going to be expensive, but 500gb SSDs are quite reasonablely priced now. Just make sure you create your restore disks so that you can do a fresh install onto your new SSD.

Hi there,

I know the feeling of a slow PC... usually virusses or degraded harddisks tend to slow down your PC.
-Download antivirus from www.freedrweb.com and scan your PC (without installing the program, just RUN it).

-You could check if there are other profiles on your PC from possible previous owners even if the PC is bought new ! (c:\users)
On the news I read that a guy bought a brandnew PC but found over 6000 pictures from someone else !

-Also do an extensive checkdisk to exclude that the HDD is worn out (if the PC was a showroom-model it might be a year old and may had some impacts of any kind !) Speccy is good for this kind of stuff !

Just start from there and let us know !
(If your HDD is getting old : buy a new one and copy the image from the old to the new drive. If you need some more info on this let us know too).

Cheers,
Louise.

Sorry, but i think you should read the whole explanation and title again, im looking for reason/solution why is it slow suddenly even though it is a new laptop, i know 5400rpm hdd is slow, but the problem that i get is the hdd slower than usual it operate, your answer is more to how to make the laptop faster

That's how disks work - the more you use them and the more you install to them, the slower they get over time. Since laptop drives are generally extremely slow to begin with (mechanical and only 5400 rpm at that), the more you use it the more painful it gets. Windows updates, software installation, caches, dump files... they all contribute to overall performance.

You can perform disk cleanup, disk defragment, and many other tweaks that help with this, but it won't solve the issue long-term. The only one, correctly suggested by mcconkeymike, is to replace this HDD with a decent SSD. This will make things fly.

Mostly viruses do this and also a worn-out computer (if it's a showroom model). There is still the warranty which you can use if it needs to be replaced. But therefor you need to be sure the drive is bad !

Cheers, Louise.

well i think you are right, i get the last stock of this laptop, and its a showroom model that displayed, but im taking it because my old laptop condition getting worse and because the display model wrapped and still clean so im taking it. but i also not sure about the quality of pretty cheap hdd like hgst and toshiba, as i never have experience with it and if i compared it with my old one with wd hdd it could still perform not really bad and reliable
