Good gaming pc, but around 40fps in csgo?

Good gaming pc but still low fps in csgo??

I have
Geforce GTX 1070
I5-6600k CPU
8GB ram
Im running windows 10
But when i play csgo on higest settings my fps is around 40, is my pc not good enough or is there something wrong. i might be stupid here but im kinda new to this

Are you steadily only getting 40 fps or just bouts of it? It's normal, especially during online gameplay, to get the occasional stutter or frame rate drop, but consistently low performance suggests a potential driver problem.

What resolution do you game at?
