2 Years ago I built my pc and needed a card just to get it going. So I chose the r7 260x because my budget only allowed me to get this card. Now I have enough money to finally upgrade my card (which was my intended plan). I want to get a Nvidia card preferably the newest generation GTX 1060. How does this compare with my own r7 260x. Or what other card should I maybe look into?

Specs:
CPU - AMD FX-6300 OC to 4.0ghz
MOBO - M5A99FX RV2
GPU - XFX R7 260x Double Dissipation.
PSU - Corsair CX 500
OS - Windows 10 64bit
RAM - 8gb DDR3 1866
SSD - Samsung 840 evo 120gb
HDD - 2 TB WD Blue
CASE - Corsair 200r

Honestly I'm not 100% sure if it will bottleneck it, but with the rx 480, you will get the max performance that is possible with that cpu.
