So I am building a new computer with a MSI Z270 KRAIT GAMING LGA 1151 Intel Z270 ATX motherboard and I have found a major problem. The power supply 8 pin power connector wont fit in the motherboard.
I bought a EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 220-G2-0750-XR 80+ GOLD 750W Fully Modular power supply that comes with 2 cpu power cables. One end of the cable fits fine in either the motherboard or the power supply. The problem lies with the other end of the cable, the 4+4 pin.
The motherboard 8 pin power plug is a mixture of square pegs and rounded top pegs. The problem is one of the 4+4 pins is nothing but rounded end plugs. There is no way you can get a 4 rounded plug into a 2 round 2 square plug no matter how you try to jam it in.
So my question is, can i get an adapter for this board that can turn a 4 rounded plug 4+4 pin into a 2 square 2 rounded end plug that will fit into the Krait motherboard? Or is this a trick by the industry to make me buy a power supply that is also brand new that only works with this new breed of motherboard?
