Need a cooler that'll fit a 1150 socket with NO backplate

Heyo! I came by earlier to get some suggestions for a cooler that'd fit my case and my socket. I settled on the Cooler Master Hyper TX3, but ran into a major issue. The cooler is supposed to fit my 1150 socket, but when I went to actually install it, that was further from the truth. The connecting pins fit in some places, but were a good few centimeters off and to actually get them in, I had to move the entire unit. the cooler itself fit great and I'd of had no issue if it weren't for the fact that my motherboard seemed to turn out to be incompatible.

My case is a Sentey GS-6007, which in hindsight I should have gone with another all together, as I cannot access the back of my motherboard without doing a complete install which won't end very well for me in the end. What cooler should I look for instead? I need something that'll fit 100% for sure. My motherboard is an MSI ATX Z97 with the obvious LGA 1150. Please let me know if there's any other information I should provide.

Thanks in advance!

I know for a 100% fact that it fits the 1150 slot as I used it on mine.

Not to mention that the last few generations of Intel CPUs use the same mounting pattern.

Make sure the cooler is oriented the proper way and try again.

I have the TX3, but the pins don't quite fit, which is the main issue here. It really sucks because I was told that it'd fit not only my weird case but that it needed no backing plate. That was true, though it seems it just doesn't want to fit.

Oh..

The motherboard is on standoffs, the issue is that the connectors didn't reach all the holes so the cooler itself wouldn't be seated properly thus making the TX3 ineffective in my build.

Exactly. It would run up to 85C playing BF1 on stock clocks. Whereas 4690K would stay around 60C.

Man do I feel like an idiot.

There were no instructions for the 1150 that came with the cooler, so I tried it their way and screwed and tried to mount. I went and did the opposite, using the other holes that were present on the bottom of the pins and blam! I got them to fit and got it all running now. I'm going to play a game or two and see how much performance I get as I ran into a slight issue. One of the connectors didn't want to be pushed in, but ended up very tightly wedged and the overall cooler itself feels very secure. Thanks for the help though guys, I feel like a fool.
