My revised response: Four stars. One not very enthusiastic thumbs up.

What I see that looks good: CPU, motherboard, RAM, graphics card, etc.

What I see that I don't agree with: Power supply (it's terrible quality), no SSD, wasted money on an optical drive?

Your power supply needs to be switched for a higher quality model.

Did you know that modern SSDs don't have a problem with long term data storage? You can run your whole system with just an SSD for years and not have a single problem. I recommend starting with an SSD of at least 240GB, then adding an HDD when you need the extra storage.

When was the last time you used an optical drive and not a USB stick? Unless you need to burn software disks, I generally think of optical drives as a waste of money.

Click Add Storage and you'll be presented with a list of storage devices to choose from. You've likely been here to select your HDD. This list is not entirely HDDs, there are SSDs in this list as well. Just search Samsung 850 EVO and select your desired capacity.

They're about equal, but the G2 will be quieter under load.

If you'd like to know why mine looks much more organized than yours, I clicked the [bb] button in PCPartPicker when copying the code. You must have clicked the button that looks like a box with a side panel being taken off.

For less than $3K? How about you put one together for me and we'll see who gets to laugh at who. Note that I was using a leash of about $1.5K because that was around the price of his original list.

I just realized how offensive that could sound... I was trying to get you fired up to challenge my build. I hope I didn't offend you.
