Should I send back 6600k for 7600k

I have an ASUS Z170-A mobo and a 6600k arriving tomorrow. The 7600k is only $10 more. And the Z270-A looks really nice but it's a bit more than the 170. Would it be worth the shipping and hassle to send back to get the performance increase?

The 7600K is only faster because of the clock speed increase. Clock for clock Skylake and Kaby Lake are identical. You will probably get a slightly higher overclock out of the 7600K as well.

Is it worth it? Up to you. If it was me buying new around now I would have waited for Kaby.

As everyone said clock for clock there the same I recently choose the 6600k just to save some cash I mean it's really the same thing intel chips haven't been improving since there's no competition, hopefully Ryzen fixes that

The optimization is on the part of the fabrication facility and the maturation of the 14nm process. That's why Kaby comes clocked slightly higher. This is much more important with laptops and mobile devices as the more mature process is also slightly more efficient. Kaby Lake is so like Skylake it should have been called a refresh like Devil's Island was to Haswell. It's not a new architecture.

Are there any new features on Z270 that aren't on Z170? I'm not sure I've noticed anything new.
