Currently using a:

Hp Elitebook 8540w
Windows 10 (through update)
Version 1607
Intel Core vPro i7

With an NVIDIA Quadro FX880M Graphics Card.

According to Geforce Experience, my currently most updated driver version is 342.01. However, the required driver version to play BattleField 1 is 375.63 or later. So when i updated the Geforce driver manually from the NVIDIA Website, it came up with message 'NVIDIA Installer cannot continue - This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware' and 'NVIDIA Installer failed.' To address this problem, I visited multiple guides from Youtube to solve this problem, and managed to install GeForce v376.33 by tweaking the notes on the display driver. (changing the PCI\VEN etc.)

However, upon installation of this new driver version, and restarting my com, I encountered a new problem; It is not recognizing the new installation and when I try to open my BF1, I get the message "Detected Microsoft Basic Render Driver driver version unknown" the required drivers are AMD, Nvidia, Intel, etc. Please update your drivers at these websites. before playing the game.''

I then tried to force my computer to use my newly installed NVIDIA GeForce Driver by attempting to open my NVIDIA Control Panel, but it did not allow me to do so as it did not recognize any NVIDIA driver.

Or is it possible that my graphic card is too old? But I did see videos of people playing BF4 with an NVIDIA Quadro FX880M Graphics card on Youtube.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Solution
No, unlikely to be upgradable, so it's new machine time, however BF1 is very very demanding, i'd suggest $1500-2000 minimum on a laptop for medium-high settings.

Apologies, I meant Battlefield 4. Allow me to edit it. Is there any way I can play it with my current specs without having to fork out hundreds of dollars?
