Monitor has no signal after windows 10 update

I hava a computer with a different graphic port than the monitor and the monitor doesn't have hdmi so i bought an adaptor so my computer has HDMI plugged in, it was working fine until I installed and updated windows 10, now the monitor has no signal and i don't know what to do (i was told that the graphic output changed, but i can only use the hdmi, is there any way to change it back?)
Also i don't know alot about computers, it's the first time I have one.

If you have a posibility take out your disk with installed Windows 10 and connect it to other computer (boot that system) install drivers to your GPU on it and then try to run disk with on your computer.

If you cant do that i found another possible solution :
1) PC power off, get free of static (e.g. touch the PSU enclosure)
2) hold power button for 1 minute
3) plug power cable back & PC power on

if this does not work, try also the above steps, with extra step "1.5) remove cmos battery" so after first step above.
