Hello guys,

I have an i5 3350P and a GTX 650 Ti 2GB.

What would benefit me the most in games, upgrading the cpu to an i5 2500K and overclock it to 4.3Ghz or upgrading my GPU to a GTX 770?

Thanks!

Solution
You will still get higher framerates from the GPU. You will reach a point (especially at lower resolution/settings) where your GPU (thus framerate) may suffer because your CPU will bottleneck, but I don't think the GTX 770 will bottleneck your i5-3350p, at least not enough that you would get higher framerate with a 2500K and your 650 Ti.

The 2500K is around 10% faster (depending on overclock) that your CPU; while a GTX 770 is around 130% faster than your GPU. If anything, get the GPU first and if you feel you still need the CPU then get it.

Moving from one i5 to another on the same platform has never been a good way to improve performance. I would think that since you already have an i5, your next CPU upgrade would be a whole new...
The GTX 770 would get you more graphics detail and/or higher framerates than the i5-2500K.

Just be careful buying on Ebay. There are a couple sellers selling GPUs that aren't what they say they are. Like this 128-bit GTX 770 http://www.ebay.com/itm/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX770-2GB-DDR5-128Bit-PCI-Express-Video-Graphics-Card-CD-Driver-/192067853379?hash=item2cb822dc43:g:sccAAOSwA3dYag7V

There is no 128-bit GTX 770, so it has to be a lesser card with a flashed BIOS. Any GPU that looks like that one, stay away from it because it isn't from a certified Nvidia manufacturer.

What if I play on medium settings @900p?

What kind of power supply do you have? The GTX 770 recommends a 600W power supply as it pulls 230W of power by itself. So unless you already have a sufficient power supply, it may be just as cost efficient to get a GTX 970 and have better performance.

Bought an 1050 ti. I'm satisfied so far, thanks! Will buy an i5 2500K and overclock it to 4.5 Ghz in the near future.
